The law firm Cobian Roig Law Offices was founded in 2011 by attorney Eduardo J. Cobián Roig. We are a boutique general civil law practice in Puerto Rico specializing in litigation before the Federal Court and state courts in Puerto Rico, covering civil and commercial contractual disputes, insurance litigation for damages, commercial real estate, medical malpractice, labor and employment law. The firm is known for offering effective and accessible legal solutions. We pride ourselves on ensuring availability and direct communication with our clients. Attorney Eduardo J. Cobián Roig graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law in 2005. He also earned a law degree from the University of Barcelona School of Law, in Barcelona, Spain, and a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus. After graduating from law school, Attorney Cobián worked at the Puerto Rico Supreme Court until April 2008, where, among other things, he served as Legal Advisor to the Advisory Committee for the Rules of Evidence.
In May 2008, Attorney Cobián joined the litigation group at Pietrantoni, Méndez & Álvarez, LLP, specializing in general civil practice litigation in state courts and the Federal Court in Puerto Rico. He represented medical and banking insurance organizations in various matters, including contracts, damages, and commercial issues. He also handled labor law cases, appellate practice, administrative law, insurance contracts, civil rights, personal injury, and representation in arbitrations before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), in addition to assisting in other complex litigations.
In January 2011, he founded Cobian Roig Law Offices, initially focused on federal litigation and complex cases in state courts. Since then, the firm has evolved to represent clients in a wide range of civil and commercial law areas, including contracts, damages, insurance, real estate, federal ADA law, copyright, antitrust, labor and employment law, actions under federal RICO law, and constitutional rights. Attorney Cobián has vast litigation experience, acting as lead attorney in jury trials in Federal Court, dispositive motions, Daubert hearings, extraordinary remedies hearings in judgment assurance, and oral arguments before the First Circuit Court of Appeals. He also has experience in real estate contracts, negotiating and drafting lease agreements for shopping centers and representing lessor creditors in Bankruptcy Court. Attorney Cobián has also represented hospitals in medical malpractice litigations in state and federal courts.
With over ten years of experience, at Cobian Roig Law Offices, we represent both plaintiffs and defendants in Puerto Rico, whether in Federal Court, the Court of First Instance, or before government agencies. We also offer notarial services that include drafting public deeds, sworn statements, and document authentication, always guaranteeing the highest quality and professionalism in each of our services.

Eduardo J. Cobián Roig
Eduardo J. Cobián Roig graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law in 2005. After graduation, he worked at the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico until April 2008, where he served as legal advisor to the Advisory Committee of the Rules of Evidence, collaborating in the drafting of the Rules of Evidence of Puerto Rico that are currently in force.
In May 2008, Mr. Cobián joined the litigation group of Pietrantoni, Méndez & Álvarez, LLP, specializing in general civil practice litigation before state and federal courts. During this time, he represented health insurance organizations and banking entities in commercial law cases. He also handled matters related to labor and employment law, appellate practice, administrative law, insurance contracts, civil rights, personal injury, and representation of securities brokerage firms in arbitrations before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), in addition to assisting in complex litigation.

Mr. Cobián has extensive experience as an attorney in jury trials in Federal Court, appellate proceedings and has successfully argued before the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. In addition, he has experience in negotiating and drafting commercial leases, as well as representing landlord-tenant creditors in bankruptcy court.

Anne M. Galanes Vidal
Anne M. Galanes Vidal obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law in May 2007. Previously, she completed a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in General Corporate Studies at Boston University in 2003.
After graduating from law school, she began her legal career as an associate in the Labor and Employment Law Department of McConnell Valdés LLC.
Subsequently, Ms. Galanes went on to lead Galanes Law Offices, where she specialized in residential real estate transactions, collaborating with banking institutions in Puerto Rico, mainly in the preparation of legal opinions on the purchase and sale and refinancing of properties.
In 2015, she joined Cobián Roig Law Offices as an attorney, specializing in personal injury cases, corporate matters and medical malpractice litigation. In addition, she has continued to expand her practice in the area of notarial law.
Ms. Galanes has been admitted to practice law in Puerto Rico since 2007 and has been a notary public since 2008. Her vast experience in civil and commercial litigation, coupled with her personalized approach and commitment to her clients, has established her as a highly qualified attorney in the Puerto Rican legal field.
